Thomas Partey to Arsenal
Thomas Partey

Arsenal are trying desperately to signing defensive midfielder Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid but things are about to get really tough.

The Gunners have made Thomas one of their top priority targets this summer but according to ESPN, Ligue 1 giants PSG have now entered the race to sign the Ghanian international.

The report claims: “Atletico Madrid are yet to receive an offer for Arsenal target Thomas Partey, sources told ESPN, with PSG now in the running to land the midfielder.”

Will PSG end up signing Thomas Partey?

It’s no secret that Mikel Arteta is desperate to bring Thomas Partey on board before the new Premier League season kicks off but the entry of PSG has surely made things a lot more interesting.

PSG have the money to pay the required release clause for the midfielder and if Arsenal cannot gather the funds quickly enough then the 27-year-old could be playing in French league next season.

Some reports have suggested that Thomas is eager to play in the English Premier League next season but he would not want to keep his future hanging until the wee hours of deadline day.

So, if the North London side cannot make an official approach soon enough then we have a feeling Thomas Partey and Atletico Madrid will try and close the deal with PSG.

Arsenal have just brought back Dani Ceballos on yet another loan spell and as per rumours, the club are now going to shift their focus to the Atletico man.

Let’s wait and watch.
