Timo Werner to Chelsea EPL

Chelsea forward Timo Werner arrived in England with a lot of hopes but so far, he’s proved to be a massive failure in the Premier League.

At Leipzig, the German international could not stop scoring and last season, he managed to net 28 goals in 34 Bundesliga matches for the club but this time around, he’s found the back of the net only five times in the Premier League.

There have been various reports as to why Timo Werner has suddenly lost his form after coming to England but if the latest reports are anything to go by then Chelsea are not ready to show any more patience.

According to Football Insider, Timo Werner’s time in England might be over and he could be shown the door as early as this summer window.

The exclusive report claims: “Timo Werner may quit Chelsea as early as this summer after failing to set the Premier League alight, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

“Chelsea sources have told Football Insider that few at the club expect Werner to see out his contract, or anywhere near. There is a growing expectation that the Germany international will return to his homeland “in the next year or two”.

“A deal could even be agreed as early as the summer window.”

Will Timo Werner be sold this summer?

The kind of form that Timo Werner is in right now, it will not be a big surprise if Chelsea put him up for sale at the end of this season itself.

But after spending so much money on him just a year ago, we expect the Blues to be a bit more patient. Also, the club have a new manager in Thomas Tuchel and he will not be too keen to part ways with such a prolific goalscorer so early on in his managerial career at Chelsea.

Eventually, this report may very much hold water in the coming months but if sense prevails in the Chelsea thinktank then the London outfit will not want to sell Timo Werner in the summer and then go on the hunt for a new centre-forward.
