West Ham United lost their Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur at home 1-0 and defender Issa Diop is not particularly happy.

Issa Diop joined the Hammers during the summer on a five-year contract for a transfer fee reported to be in the region of £22 million.

And on Saturday the 6 ft 4 in centre-back was charged with stopping Harry Kane from coming up with the goods.

While Issa Diop did do his job perfectly but it was Erik Lamela who popped up with the only goal of the game in the 44th minute.

And speaking after the game, Diop has raised concerns over his team’s inability to finish off chances.

Issa Diop said: “It was the same game as against Brighton as we had chances, but we didn’t score, so we need to work and I hope we will score more goals in the next game.

“I played normal, but we conceded a goal and we didn’t win, so I can’t be happy with my performance. I want to test myself against the best players and Kane didn’t score, but we didn’t score either, so we lost the game.”

Scoring goals has certainly been a problem for West Ham United and as the Hammers take on Leicester City next weekend this problem could very well be aggravated with reports suggesting that winger Andriy Yarmolenko could be sidelined for six months after suffering an ankle injury during the Spurs game.
