Jack Grealish to Man City
Jack Grealish playing for Aston Villa

Jack Grealish has helped Aston Villa remain the Premier League but it’s almost certain that the player will move out of the club before the next season begins.

The likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with him over the past couple of months but according to Michael Owen, all the interested clubs will find it even more difficult to get their hands on Jack Grealish now that Villa remain in the top division.

‘He’ll be more expensive now to possible suitors,’ Owen said, via Metro.

‘There is that tie now that it’s his team and they’re still in the Premier League – it would have been an easier decision if they went down.

‘You can’t have someone like that playing in the Championship. He’s a top player, he would suit an awful lot of teams; he’s exceptional.

‘People compare him to James Maddison and others like that but I think he’s head and shoulders above him. He can run with the ball well, score goals, he’s in double figures this season, he assists.

‘He’s actually much better out of possession and I think that’s where this season he has developed that side. He covers a lot of ground. He’s not one of those flashy players where you give him the ball and he turns it on, he actually works hard out of possession as well.’

The fact that Aston Villa will play in the Premier League next season means there’s no way the club will lower their demands for Grealish during the course of the summer transfer window.

Rumours suggest that Villa want around £80 million for the 24-year-old playmaker and we are not sure if either Man United or Spurs will be too interested in paying such a steep price.

Jack Grealish still has three years left on his current contract meaning the club are in no hurry to sell him off. So if Dean Smith’s side do not lower their demands then there’s a big possibility that the 24-year-old could remain at Villa Park for one more season.
