Chelsea have been joined by Manchester United in the signing of Leicester City’s 23-year-old left-back Ben Chilwell, as per The Sun.

Ben Chilwell has been on Chelsea’s radar all throughout the ongoing season but the entry of Manchester United has really shaken things up for Frank Lampard and his plans for the upcoming season.

The report claims: “LEICESTER’S failure to secure Champions League football is set to cost them the chance to persuade Ben Chilwell his future remains at the club.

“Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in the England star.

“The Foxes had hoped to be able to offer top-level European football as a carrot to convince him to stay at the King Power.

“But their late-season collapse saw a top-four finish slip through their fingers with 23-year-old Chilwell’s two suitors making the cut instead.

“There would be more money on offer if Chilwell did push for a move but that is not the only factor in making his mind up.”

Will Chelsea miss out on Ben Chilwell?

Leicester City have not been able to secure Champions League qualification for the next season meaning Rodgers will undoubtedly have some tough in trying to hold onto Ben Chilwell.

While the entry of Man United in this race is not great news for Chelsea but we are pretty confident that the Blues are still standing in the front of the queue.

Man United have left-backs Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams and both of them have done brilliantly this season. So Ben Chilwell will not be get guaranteed regular starts in case he moves to Old Trafford.

But with Emerson possibly leaving and Marcos Alonso also seeing a dip in form, the Leicester man can easily be the first-choice left-back for Chelsea next season.
