Striker Umar Sadiq has decided to cut his loan spell at Rangers short and will be heading back to Italy during the January transfer window.

Umar Sadiq arrived at Ibrox with much promise but the youngster has failed to win the loyalty of Steven Gerrard and reports suggest that he will be loaned out almost immediately after returning to Roma.

As per the Scottish Sun, Roma are planning to loan him out to Serie B side Perugia which is currently a big problem for Steven Gerrard.

Once Umar Sadiq leaves Rangers, the Gers manager will only be left with two striker which is certainly not enough to challenge for the Premiership title.

Alfredo Morelos is currently the first choice striker for Rangers while Kyle Lafferty being the backup but Gerrard needs one more backup man.

And it seems, the Teddy Bears are looking at Malaga frontman Jack Harper.

The Scott has been impressing at Malaga this season and rumours have it that Steven Gerrard is planning to make a move for him during the January transfer window.

TransferMarkt values the Malaga man at around €800,000 but the La Liga 2 side have just rejected a £1million bid from Getafe.

This means if Rangers want to sign Jack Harper then they will have to shell out much more than £1million which is an absurd amount of money especially during the middle of the season.

Jack Harper surely has talent having scored three goals and provided one assist for Malaga during the current season but paying more than £1million for a potential third choice striker does not really make any sense.
