West Ham United signed Jack Wilshere from Arsenal last summer and everyone thought England international will be a huge success at the club.

But we are almost close to the end of the current season and so far Jack Wilshere has made only five appearances for the Hammers.

Yes, just five appearances and all of them have come in the Premier League.

The midfielder picked up an ankle injury in September and the player has since struggled to get fully fit and now things are looking even worse after Pellegrini confirmed that Jack Wilshere will miss the clash vs Cardiff this weekend.

He said: “We don’t have any more news (on Jack) for the moment.

“We are going to give him the time to recover 100 per cent.

“Maybe next week he will start doing some work on the pitch, but we must be calm with him because he needs to recover 100 per cent.”

Wilshere was expected to return in December but then it was confirmed that he is going to have surgery on his knee and now reports suggest he will make a comeback at the end of this month.

To be honest we have lost track of the number of ankle injuries that the midfielder has suffered during his career and if it carries on at such a rate we doubt if he can play for too long.

Jack Wilshere’s signed a three-year deal at the club but right now the Hammers are just wasting weekly wages on a player who is practically no use to them.

Arsenal also did the same thing with him but unlike the Hammers, the Gunners had finances to spare.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side is doing perfectly fine without Jack Wilshere and we would not be surprised if the London outfit chose to part ways with the midfielder during the summer.
