Rangers FC look to be on the verge of agreeing on a pre-contract for Motherwell youngster Jake Hastie – as per reports.

Jake Hastie is one of the most talked about forward that the Premiership has had to offer this season and the Motherwell man is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

Reports suggest that the Gers have been keeping tabs on Jake Hastie for some time now and they are expected to make an approach pretty soon.

The 20-year-old has played 35 games this season scoring nine goals and providing seven assists and Steven Gerrard clearly sees potential in the youngster.

Motherwell would love to keep the player at the club but their manager Steve Robinson has made it clear that Jake Hastie will have to make a decision about his future.

Robinson said: “A lot of speculation but he’s concentrating on tomorrows game. Jake’s got a decision to make…we can’t pull money out of nowhere…we’ll do our very best”

Rangers and Celtic are the only financially sound clubs in the Premiership so it is highly unlikely that Jake Hastie will turn down an offer from the Gers when they eventually come calling.

Jake Hastie’s move to Ibrox will be obviously a free transfer given the winger becomes a free agent during the summer.

But since the youngster is a product of Motherwells’ young system hence the club are will be eligible to receive a hefty development fee.

Which is another reason why Well shouldn’t be too displeased about Hastie moving to Rangers.
