Manchester United have been chasing England international Jadon Sancho for a number of months now but they are nowhere close to signing the talented winger.
Dortmund have made it clear that they want £108 million in the form of transfer fees without any add-ons and this is proving to be the major stumbling block for the Premier League outfit.
And now according to Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United are not likely to sign Jadon Sancho during the ongoing transfer window.
He said: “Why are we still talking about Jadon Sancho when Borussia Dortmund have made their stance perfectly clear. It is final, he is staying, he is playing for Dortmund this season.
“The reason is is that we haven’t got the impression from Manchester United that they are no longer interested in Jadon Sancho. Also, all of the social media noise surrounding the club intensifies every time a rival club makes a signing.
“Now it should be said that some of the noises coming out of United have been consistent the whole of this transfer window. They simply do not want to write a cheque of £108 million because they believe that price is too high in this current COVID-19 climate.
“They are looking at alternatives like Perisic, Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman.
“The feeling is if Sancho doesn’t happen an experienced player is an avenue that Manchester United could explore in this transfer window.”
Sheth also explained how Manchester United are finding it hard to offload unwanted players this summer which has led to a huge first-team squad at the club.
But now with Gareth Bale on his way to join Tottenham Hotspur, Man United have very few options left in the market. So either they go all out and spend the cash on Jadon Sancho or admit the fact that they are going to have yet another poor transfer window.
