Alfredo Morelos has been in top form this season and there have been rumours that the forward could be on his way out during the summer.

Already a number of clubs are said to be interested in signing the Colombian international and it will be really hard for Gerrard to hold onto the striker.

During the 2018-19 season, Alfredo Morelos has played in 44 games for Rangers and the forward up until now has been on fire.

The 22-year-old has till now scored 29 goals and provided 11 assists and it looks like the striker has found a new admirer.

Colombia recently beat Japan 1-0 in a friendly in a game which saw Alfredo Morelos came on during the dying minutes of the match to replace James Rodriguez.

And speaking after the match, the Bayern Munich loanee had only nice things to say about the Rangers striker.

Talking about Alfredo Morelos, James Rodriguez said(as reported): “This was a new squad out there and there were many players in the team who didn’t have a lot of international experience.

“Players such as Alfredo Morelos, who can be the future of football in our country.

“He has a lot of talent and has all the qualities needed to be a top player for us.

“Alfredo is young, has had a great season and is a top striker. He was called up ahead of more experienced strikers so that tells you that our manager Carlos Queiroz rates him very highly.

“Of course, he still has a lot to learn, but he seems to be improving all the time and he is going to become an important player for Colombia.”

James Rodriguez is currently on a loan to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich from Real Madrid and this summer the player will have a really tough decision to make in terms of the next step he wants to take.

But despite such a professional turmoil, James Rodriguez clearly has not shied away from praising the national team’s youngsters.

Alfredo Morelos has claimed that he wished to play in the Premier League someday and many experts feel the striker is looking to secure a move to England this summer itself.
