Arsenal had reported made a move for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.
The Real Madrid man is currently out on loan at Bayern Munich and the player was expected to stay in Germany until the end of the season.
But recent rumours had suggested that Bayern were not happy with the player’s impact this season and were willing to let him leave this month.
This is where Arsenal came in as the Gunners had made contact with Real Madrid for a short term loan deal for James Rodriguez with an option to buy him during the summer.
It was being suggested that both Real Madrid and James Rodriguez were considering a deal with Arsenal but now ESPN is suggesting otherwise.
As per a report int he ESPN, the Colombian is not willing to join Arsenal this month and he is more than happy to stay at Bayern Munich.
Bayern too are not too keen to let go of the attacking midfielder and there are whispers that James might permanently stay with the Bavarians.
James Rodriguez was willing to head back to Real Madrid during the summer and fight for his place in the first XI but Real Madrid has been actively looking to bring in a new attacking midfielder for quite some time now.
The Los Blancos have targetted the likes of Eden Hazard and Christen Eriksen and either of them arrives in the summer then it is goodbye James Rodriguez.
The Colombian’s loan deal at Bayern expires at the end of the season and even the Bavarians have an option to buy which means that James Rodriguez might not have to return back to Real Madrid.
This is a huge blow for Arsenal manager Unai Emery who are planning to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid as a long term replacement for Aaron Ramsey who is set to leave the club on a free transfer during the summer.
