Rangers vs Leipzig
Ibrox Stadium Rangers

Rangers FC will travel to Ruby park in order to take on Kilmarnock in the Premiership during midweek.

And the outcome of this game could help shape up the top half of the table – atleast momentarily.

A win for the Gers would take them at the top of the table having played one game more than Celtic who currently sit on the top.

But if Kilmarnock manage to win this game then it would mean Steve Clarke’s men will leapfrog over Rangers and move to the second spot.

And talking about his team’s performance this season, Clarke revealed why Killie have been having a better season than Rangers.

“If you put it into isolation if the figures are to be believed of £35,000 which is bandied around if that is the case and they are paying that for Jermain Defoe,” Clarke said.

“To put that into context, that is the budget that I have got for my entire squad, per week.

“That shows you how well we are doing.

“The important thing for us is to continue working the way we have always worked since I came to the club.

“That is to focus on ourselves and prepare properly for the game and make sure we are ready for anything that Rangers show on the day.”

For those of you who did not understand, the Kilmarnock boss was talking about Rangers’ acquisition of Jermain Defoe.

Recent reports had suggested that the Gers will be paying £35,000 out of the £90,000 wages for Jermain Defoe during his 18-month loan stay at Ibrox.
