Is ‘this’ Rangers FC defender heading out of the club next month?

Rangers FC right-back James Tavernier has been in superb form during the 2018-19 season.

It’s only the first half of the season and the 27-year-old has already provided 14 assists during his 35 appearances for the club.

And now reports are claiming that James Tavernier is being eyed by a European club who are ready to make a bid for him next month.

According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, Fenerbahce are planning to launch a bid for the Rangers right-back.

The Fenerbahce manager has planned to bring in two full-backs during the January transfer window and for the right-back role he seems to have shortlisted James Tavernier.

The right-back joined Rangers from Wigan Athletic back in 2015 for a fee of around £315,000 and currently, he is valued at around £765,000 as per TransferMarkt.

But there is no way that Steven Gerrard will let one of his best players leave for anything below £2 million.

And to be very honest we highly doubt if the Gers manager will let James Tavernier leave at all.

The Bradford born player has been one of the key figures for the Teddy Bears this season having played in 19 Premiership games this season.

And in these 19 games, the right-back has assisted eight goals and has himself scored six which are rather great numbers for a full-back.

The rumours linking James Tavernier to Fenerbahce are just in its initial phases and we still do not know how much the Turkish side are willing to pay for the services of the right-back.
