Jamie Murphy joined Rangers from Brighton last summer but he spent most of the 2018-19 season out on the sidelined.

The winger picked up a ligament injury back in August which meant that literally missed the whole season having featured in 2 Premiership games.

However, he has returned back from injury last month but it looks like he could very well be on his way out of the club this transfer window.

It is being reported that Blackpool are keen on signing Jamie Murphy this summer as their manager Simon Grayson is a big admirer of the 29-year-old.

The Sun are reporting: “BLACKPOOL are keeping tabs on Rangers’ comeback star Jamie Murphy.

“The 29-year-old is on the verge of a first-team return after almost a year out with a cruciate knee injury.

“Boyhood Gers fan Murphy is determined to make his mark under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

“But Blackpool are tracking his situation as they consider a move to try and lure the ex-Brighton star back down south.

“New Seasiders boss Simon Grayson is an admirer of Murphy having looked to sign him for Sunderland two years ago.”

Jamie Murphy will obviously be itching to play for Rangers once again and prove his worth to Steven Gerrard. But all of that will depend on how quickly he can get back to match fitness.

Jamie Murphy spent the previous season watching Rangers play from the stands and he only got back into training about 15 days ago.

So clearly Steven Gerrard will try and ease him back into the first team lineup or the manager can choose the other option and sell him off to Blackpool this summer.
