Japhet Tanganga Spurs vs Man United
Japhet Tanganga (Tottenham Hotspur, 39)

Tottenham Hotspur will be without defender Japhet Tanganga when Manchester United come to London on Friday, as per The Telegraph.

The Premier League season resumes this week and Spurs take on Solskjaer’s Manchester United in their very first match and up until yesterday, Jose Mourinho was a really happy manager.

This unexpected lockdown helped Mourinho get all his injured players back to full fitness but as per the report, Japhet Tanganga is the first Lilywhites player to pick up an injury after the training has resumed.

The report claims: “Jose Mourinho has been dealt an injury blow with Japhet Tanganga ruled out of Tottenham’s restart with a suspected stress fracture to his back.

“Tanganga suffered the injury as Mourinho’s squad prepared to return to action this week against Manchester United on Friday evening.

“The 21-year-old had started Spurs’ last three Premier League games before football closed its doors following the coronavirus pandemic. He also played in the defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League in his team’s final game before their three-month break.

“There is hope that Tanganga will play before the end of the season and he has been able to work on the training pitches.”

Japhet Tanganga has come up through the ranks at Spurs but the 21-year-old has really shone under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Under the Portuguese, the defender has been a regular feature in the starting XI, both as a centre-back and also as a full-back meaning his injury will be a major setback for the home side on Friday.

Thankfully, Mourinho has all his other defenders fully fit meaning Alderweireld will be partnered by Davinson Sanchez in central defence against Man United.
