Manchester United lost their second game of the new Premier League season 3-2 to Brighton and with that, the cracks have started to show in the Man United line-up after just two matches.

United were always chasing the game against Brighton and their attitude did not look like they really wanted to go out and win the match.

In fact they were going through their paces for most of the second half and for that, almost every player has come under fire.

But like always the pundits and fans had reserved the harshest comments for midfielder Paul Pogba who had a terrible outing during the match.

But England and Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe has now revealed the conversation he had with Paul Pogba last season which clearly outlines, the midfielder’s concern over his own performance.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Defoe said:

“It’s funny, I spoke to Paul when they came down to Bournemouth,

“He knows he needs to do more, he said to me ‘I want to do more, it’s not as easy as people think.’

“There’s times where he struggled with his fitness and he’s played in games not 100 per cent fit. But I think he’s one of those characters where he knows he needs to do well, he’s got the right attitude.”

And speaking after the defeat to Brighton, Paul Pogba himself said that the home team were the hungrier side and that Manchester United did not deserve to win this game.

Man United take on Tottenham Hotspur at home next week and this first high-profile clash of the season might in many ways shape up how Jose Mourinho’s side will perform this season.
