Looks like ‘this’ 22 Y/O Rangers man will not stay on for the next season: Big blow?

Rangers FC brought in Joe Worrall from Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan last summer.

And it looks like the centre-back will be heading back to Forest at the end of the current season.

So far, Joe Worrall has played in 21 Premiership games during the 2018-19 season out of which only two have come as substitute appearances.

But now reports are suggesting that Martin O’Neill wants to call back the 22-year-old to the City Ground and use his as a first team regular for the upcoming season.

The report also suggests that Nottingham wanted to call back Joe Worrall during the January transfer window itself but that could not be possible.

Steven Gerrard seems to have grown a liking towards the young defender and if the reports hold true then surely it will be a big setback for the Gers.

Some rumours had earlier suggested that Rangers wanted to keep Joe Worrall at the club for one more season and there was also a slight possibility that they might try and make the move permanent.

Now though, it seems like none of that will happen and Joe Worrall will be heading back to Nottingham Forest as soon as the current season comes to an end.

If Joe Worrall leaves then we doubt whether Gerrard will go forward and splash money on yet another defender.

Instead, the manager might try and build a partnership amongst Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson in central defence for the upcoming season.
