Liverpool currently sit on the top of the Premier League table with 82 points – this after having beaten Southampton on Friday.
But with Man City involved in the FA Cup this weekend, the Citizens are now two points behind Jurgen Klopp men in the league and that too having played one game less.
And going into the final few weeks, a lot of pundits have placed their bets on Liverpool to slip up just because of their lack of experience in such crunch times.
According to Gary Neville though, both Man City and Liverpool look vulnerable and could eventually drop some points before the end of the Premier League season.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if City dropped points in two games, and Liverpool dropped points in two games,” Neville told Sky Sports(as reported).
“We have seen an outstanding level of performance from both teams this season. We have got great games to watch.
“Next Sunday is huge. Crystal Palace, next Sunday, is tough for City. If City do go and win that match and the Liverpool players know they have to go and win against Chelsea the legs start to get that little bit heavier.
“If City drop points, then Liverpool will bounce onto that pitch. We are going to witness it first hand all the way to the end of the season.
“Liverpool are in a good moment. They look less emotional than last season the way they have played. There was a level of desperation, a level of frantic-ness in the way they played [last season.”
Given that Pep Guardiola’s men have a game in hand, this adds a slight bit of pressure on Liverpool but the biggest disadvantage for Man City are their fixture.
City will have to play Spurs thrice in a span of just 10 days – two times in the Champions League and once in the Premier League.
And then just five days after their final game against Spurs, Man City will be involved in the Manchester Derby which many believe could be the undoing for Pep Guardiola’s team as far as the Premier League title race is concerned.
