Rangers FC’s biggest achievement so far is getting back into Europe by qualifying for the Europa League for the upcoming campaign.

After a couple of gruelling qualifying rounds, Steven Gerrard’s men will finally be playing in the Europa League and are all set to kick-start their campaign next week.

But moving up the ladder, into the knockout stages of the tournament will not be a cakewalk given that the Light Blues have been drawn with some rather tough opponents in the form of Villareal and Spartak Moscow.

And the fans were sent into another big of paranoia when news surfaced that their team might have to come up against former England defender John Terry who is scheduled to join Spartak Moscow – one of the Light Blues’ opponents.

Now though it seems that the prospect of John Terry coming face to face with Steven Gerrard’s side is next to nil.

According to reports, if Terry chooses to join Spartak Moscow then he will only be eligible to play from the knockout stages given that the Russian team qualify for the same.

UEFA’s deadline for squad lists has already passed which means that the teams will not be able to add any new players.

There is still some doubt as to whether John Terry will actually move to Spartak Moscow but if he eventually does then the Rangers fans can be rest assured that their team will not be facing the Chelsea legend.

Rangers kick off their Europa League campaign next week when they take travel to Spain in order to take on Villareal.
