John Terry Chelsea
John Terry in for Dedryck Boyata

Chelsea legend John Terry is set to take up a coaching role at the club – according to the latest reports.

This bit of news was doing the circles for the past couple of days and Chelsea fans were ecstatic that their beloved legend was set to come back home.

John Terry was supposed to join Spartak Moscow this season on a one-year contract but took a U-turn during the final moments which prompted many to believe that Terry wanted to stay in England.

And then came the news that John Terry would be replacing Jody Morris as the U-23 coach after the latter left the club in June to work with Frank Lampard at Derby County.

But before you get your hopes any high, this bit of report came from the Sun – a newspaper which is famous for spreading false news.

And John Terry coming back to Chelsea was another one of their master strokes and the paper has since then brought down this article from their website.

There was a number of things wrong with this John Terry exclusive from the Sun:

The first one being that Jody Morris was never the U-23 coach. He was, in fact, the U-18 coach.

The second and the most blatant reason why this article was a big sham is the fact that Chelsea already have a U-23 manager and his name is Joe Edwards.

And Edwards has been working with the club since summer of 2017.

So clearly John Terry is not returning to Chelsea any time soon. Not atleast as the U-23 manager.
