Liverpool's Jordan Henderson playing for England

England suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Croatia this week and midfielder Jordan Henderson had a really poor outing.

Jordan Henderson has been in fine form for Liverpool during the past year and a half but he along with Declan Rice had a really poor outing during the Three Lions’ EURO qualifiers.

And Man United legend Roy Keane who was on punditry duty for the match did not hold back his comments on Jordan Henderson or Declan Rice.

“It’s been poor,” Keane told ITV Sport after the first 45 minutes(as reported).

“I don’t think England have got going. They had a lucky break, a penalty after five minutes, and you’re thinking they’re maybe going to kick on from there.

“They’ve been really sloppy, Henderson and Rice – they might as well sit with us in the studio.”

Jorden Henderson played the whole match vs Croatia which has led many to believe that the midfielder might be rested when England take on Bulgaria on Monday.

And with Liverpool taking on Man United next weekend in the Premier League this omission could be a huge problem for the Liverpool captain.

Jordan Henderson came off the bench vs Leicester City last weekend but he was hoping to get back into the first XI when Liverpool visited Old Trafford next weekend.

But now with his poor show during the international break, Jurgen Klopp might very well choose to bring in Naby Keita in central midfield alongside Winjaldum.

Keita remained an unused sub for Liverpool vs the Foxes and his return to the first XI could very well be a blessing in disguise for Man United.

Jordan Henderson has been amongst the thick of things at Liverpool this season while Naby Kieta has just returned from a long-term injury. So in such a scenario, Solskjaer would see it as a positive if the England international starts the Man United vs Liverpool clash on the bench.
