Arsenal legend hits back at Mourinho right before the NLD: What’s the issue?

The North London Derby is just around the corner and the war of words have already started thanks to Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho.

After Arsenal beat Sheffield United late last month, the Gunners claimed on social media that “It’s not easy beating Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Here’s a reminder of how it’s done”. And this caption drew out Jose Mourinho who then chose to hit back at the Emirates outfit in his own unique style.

“If they [Arsenal] were top of the league or fighting for top four in a really good moment they wouldn’t enjoy the problems of others,” he had said.

“You only enjoy the problems of others when you are also in trouble. In the end, it says more about them.

“They don’t have much to celebrate [so] they have to get every opportunity to do it. They are in a very similar situation to us in the table.”

And when former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry was asked about his thoughts on Jose Mourinho and Spurs, the Emirates legend made a sarcastic jibe by claiming that he does not think too much about the Lilywhites.

“It’s going to be a weird one, it’s going to be the first one where it’s going to be in this type of situation,” he told ESPN, as quoted by the Mirror. “It’s going to be funny to hear Mourinho talk about it.

“I saw the other day he already started to have a go at Arsenal, that was pretty funny at the end of the day.

“But no, listen, I didn’t think about it too much. Because I don’t think about Tottenham and I never did in fairness so it won’t change.”

Well there’s not much to say regarding the North London Derby but with Jose Mourinho now at the helm, Spurs are sure to produce some fireworks on Sunday – both on as well as off the pitch.

Going into this match, Arsenal are eight on the Premier League table and if they can pick up all three points then Arteta’s men will move one step closer to that elusive fifth spot.
