Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola guided his team to the Premier League title this past weekend.

And with that, the Citizens have already picked up two trophies this season and they have the chance of picking up a third when they take on Watford in the FA Cup final next weekend.

Pep Guardiola was also awarded the Premier League manager of the season award this week and the Spanish manager has now crossed arch-rival Jose Mourinho in terms of the trophy count.

After winning the Premier League, Pep Guardiola took his tally to 26 trophies one better than former Man United boss Jose Mourinho.

And when Jose Mourinho was asked about the Man City boss surpassing him, the Portuguese gave a very clear answer.

Mourinho claimed that he could have won more trophies if he had stayed with Porto and Inter Milan if he had chosen to stay with them after the European success.

“No, no, it reminds me that I’m there, with 25 titles,” he told L’Equipe when asked about Guardiola’s superior record(via MEN).

“When I won the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan, if I had stayed, the season after I would have had the European Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the national Super Cup and perhaps I would have ended up with 31 titles.

“Maybe I’m not so focused on the figures!”

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United in December of last year and since then he has been without a job. But the Portuguese has made it clear that he intends to return back to management this summer.

While Pep Guardiola is not going anywhere but his former teammate Rivaldo has claimed that the Man City boss cannot live without his family and if a Spanish clubs makes a good offer then there is a possibility that he might head out of the Etihad.
