Jose Mourinho Tottenham take on Chelsea

Manchester United have not lifted the Premier League trophy ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as the manager of the club and this year too the Red Devils will miss the trophy – by a fair distance.

United are currently seventh on the league table – 14 points behind leaders Manchester City and now Jose Mourinho’s main focus is to qualify for the Champions League next season.

But that dream too might be very hard to achieve if his team constantly keep playing defensive football – especially at home.

Man United once again dropped points at Old Trafford this weekend as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace and the fans inside the stadium were infuriated at the boring game that the Red Devils played.

But now Jose Mourinho has come out to say that it is not him who tells his players to play defensive football.

Instead, he demands that his players play attacking football from the very first minute.

Talking to the press, Jose Mourinho said“I want the team to start strong, go strong on the opposition, not to be waiting,

“Probably you [the media] or the fans think Jose told them to start slow and play nice and easy or to be waiting for them to react. It is exactly the opposite. I want the team to go immediately and it is a bit frustrating.”

All of the major footballing pundits have predicted that Manchester United will not be able to qualify for the Champions League next season but Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, has worked his players to pick up maximum points during the festive period so that they can break into the top four by the end of 2018.
