Laurent Koscielny Arsenal news

Arsenal fly to Ukraine during the week to take on Vorskla in the Europa League and just three days later they take on arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the London Derby.

The Gunners have all to play for against Spurs next weekend as a win would take them level on points with Spurs who sit on the third spot.

But beating the Lilywhites will not be a cake walks given they have just come out of an emphatic win over Chelsea this past weekend.

And as Arsenal are preparing for the Derby, a certain Laurent Koscielny has made his comeback for Unai Emery’s side.

Koscielny is yet to play under his new manager Unai Emery as he has been recovering from a ruptured achilles tendon since May of this year.

As of this date, Laurent Koscielny has been out of action for 214 days missing as many as 26 games for the Gunners.

But the centre-back finally managed to get some football under his belt as he played for Arsenal’s U23 side as they took on Derby.

Arsenal got hammered in the match conceding 5 goals but four of those came after Laurent Koscielny was taken off the pitch.

The return of the defender is surely a huge boost for Unai Emery’s festive plans but we do not think he will be match fit to play against Spurs next weekend.

But with him back in the mix, the Arsenal manager will have a few options up his sleeve and players like Rob Holding and Sokratis will now have something to think about.

Arsenal fly out to Poltava to take on Vorskla in the Europa League on Thursday and Unai Emery is expected to rest a number of his first-team regular. But what will be interesting to see is if Laurent Koscielny travels with the squad.
