Manchester United beat Newcastle United 3-2 at home on Saturday coming back to win the game from 2-0 down and Juan Mata has revealed what helped him give such an inspirational performance.

United were shocked by two early goals from the Magpies within the first 10 minutes of the match and Jose Mourinho’s men had a pretty uphill task.

Winning the game while trailing initially was always a trait of Man United under Sir Alex Ferguson but gone are those days and most fans thought that their beloved team were on the verge of losing yet another match.

But Jose Mourinho was quick to make changes and he immediately brought on Juan Mata in place of Eric Bailly and the little Spaniard went on to have a great impact on the match.

Not only did Juan Mata help the ball move forward from the midfield area but the playmaker also scored United’s first goal of the game – something that helped revive the fightback.

Juan Mata took a peach of a free kick 20 minutes before time and now talking about that goal, the Spaniard has revealed about his weird superstition which helped him score from the free-kick.

Juan Mata told Man United’s official website(as reported by the Daily Mail):

‘We needed something and yesterday [Friday] I was practising free kicks in the training ground. I scored I think three in a row and I left, so I said, I think I have the touch and today exactly it proved,’

It is certainly a weird superstition to have but the United fans are not complaining one bit.

Even Jose Mourinho must be thanking his stars since he did not sell of Juan Mata as soon as he became the manager of the club.

The pair had some tensions when they were together at Chelsea and once Jose Mourinho was announced as the new manager at Man United, everyone knew Juan Mata would be the first person to leave the club.

But since then both of them have resolved their differences and look at Juan Mata now, saving his manager’s job and all.
