Manchester City travel to Anfield this Sunday to take on Liverpool and Kevin De Bruyne could very well feature in the starting line up.

The midfielder suffered a ligament injury early on in the season and at first Kevin De Bruyne’s injury looked to be serious.

Initially, it was thought the Belgian would miss the first half of the season but since then Kevin has made a speedy recovery.

Pep Guardiola has revealed the midfielder has returned to full training and is in contention to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Talking about Kevin De Bruyne’s injury, Guardiola said earlier this week: “Today was his first training session back with the team so we will see when he’s ready to play.”

And just one day before the high profile clash, the manager has given yet another update on Kevin De Bruyne’s injury saying:

“We will see on Saturday.”

This clearly indicates that the midfielder has fully recovered from his injury and the physios are just trying to check if he is match fit or not.

While there is a huge possibility that Kevin De Bruyne will play against Liverpool but we do not see him starting the game. At best he could come on as a substitute in the second half.

Benjamin Mendy is also set to return back to the squad after suffering a foot injury but Ilkay Gundogan is likely to miss Sunday game as he is yet to recover from his hamstring injury.
