Arsenal have been linked with a move for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney for a couple of months now.

Kieran Tierney is currently one of the finest British talents and it is only a matter of time that Unai Emery gets his hands on him.

Celtic have been demanding a £25 million transfer fee for the left-back and up until now, the Gunners have refused to meet that demand.

Arsenal made an initial bid of around £15 million for Kieran Tierney which was swiftly rejected by the Bhoys.

And Neil Lennon made it very clear that the North London club will have to pay more if they wish to sign their most prized possession.

Lennon said: “Arsenal are aware of what we value the player at. He’s on a long-term contract, he’s an asset and we don’t want to sell him.

“It’s going to have to take a lot more than what they’ve offered the first time around to give us a decision to make.

“I’ve had a chat with him as it can be a difficult decision and bit unsettling. I’ve been there myself so it’s important that we support him regardless of the outcome.”

Now though, Sky Sports are reporting that Arsenal have finally made an improved bid for Tierney which is expected to be in the range of £25 million – the exact fee that Celtic have been demanding.

As per the report, “Arsenal have made an improved offer in the region of £25m for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, Sky Sports News understands.

“Sky Sports News understands that Serie A side Napoli are also interested in a deal for the Scotland international.”

Right now, Kieran Tierney is recovering from hernia surgery and the Celtic boss has revealed it would take a fair amount of time before the player is back on the pitch.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon said earlier this week: “He is still injured and he is rehabbing. He had a double hernia and he still has the osteitis pubis problem. Again, it is a slow burner that one.”
