Arsenal are planning to bring in some new players during the January transfer window and recent reports suggest that one of them could be James Rodriguez.

Earlier this month, Unai Emery had claimed that the club does not have the financial reserves to make permanent signings meaning any player who comes in will be on a loan spell.

And now it looks like the Gunners have approached Real Madrid for a possible loan move for James Rodriguez.

James Rodriguez broke into the international scene during the 2014 World Cup following which the Colombian moved to Real Madrid.

But his career has not taken off at the Bernabeu and the midfielder is currently out on loan to Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old is on extended loan in Germany but Bayern are reportedly not too keen to keep the player.

James Rodriguez has so far played just 12 games for Bayern Munich this season scoring 3 goals.

And rumours have it that Bayern are ready to terminate his contract.

Arsenal are ready to swoop up the player on a loan deal until the end of the season with an option to buy him during the summer transfer window.

While James Rodriguez is willing to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place but the Los Blancos are planning to sign a couple of new players during the summer which could potentially shut the doors for the Colombian.

So normalcy will dictate that James Rodriguez moves out of Spain and heads for a greener pasture during the summer.

But will that new club be Arsenal?
