Manchester City dropped points vs Newcastle United in midweek and Liverpool had the golden chance of going seven points clear at the top.

But the Reds only managed to draw their respective Premier League game vs Leicester City 1-1 meaning, Jurgen Klopp’s side are now five points ahead of City.

Liverpool took the lead against the Foxes in the third minute of the match but it was Harry Maguire who equalised for Leicester during the injury time of the first half.

And after the match ended with the same scoreline, social media was flooded with posts of thanking Harry Maguire for keeping the title challenge alive for Manchester City.

A lot of banter was exchanged between the Man City and the Liverpool fans but a big shock game when City’s full-back Kyle Walker also got into the act.

Kyle Walker posted a photo of Harry Maguire on Twitter with the caption: “So basically they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead…”

As soon as Kyle Walker posted this image he received a lot of backlash for being disrespectful towards Liverpool following which the England international deleted the tweet.

That though was too late and now everyone is talking about Kyle Walker and his insensitive post.

And when Pep Guardiola was asked about Kyle Walker’s action on social media the Manchester City manager had a very blunt reply claiming that he could do nothing about it.

The City manager said: “I don’t control – I’m not concerned about social media. The players tweeting or social media, Instagram – I cannot control it.

“The motivation is to win games. The motivation of opponents won’t be about one Tweet or another.

“The opponents always do something and nothing happens. Our motivation is our game, that’s what we have to do.”

But the Spanish manager also maintained that he was relieved that Liverpool had dropped points against the Foxes.

“It’s much better, but immediately I’d say how will our level be?” he added.

“If our level is the last game it doesn’t matter if it five points or two points, or one we are not going to win.

“Nothing changed about what we learn or we have to learn from the previous game for the next game.

“You are satisfied for the result and that’s all. If we don’t see what we have to do, we will not be contenders until the end.”
