Arsenal have been having a really rough couple of weeks and now they have been knocked out of the FA Cup.

After an emphatic win vs Chelsea last weekend, everyone was hoping that Unai Emery’s men would slay the Red Devils at home.

But it was Man United who came out 3-1 winners vs a toothless Gunners.

While the attackers were lost for ideas especially in the second half, Unai Emery had to make two forced substitutions – both of the defenders.

First, it was Sokratis who came off with an injury in the first half then, in the second half, it was Laurent Koscielny who was to be taken off with what looked like a broken jaw.

Romelu Lukaku caught Laurent Koscielny’s face with his boots(unwillingly), and then the Arsenal medical team took almost eight minutes to stop the defender bleeding from around his ears.

Finally, the medics came to the conclusion that the Frenchman could not carry on forcing Granit Xhaka to play as a centre-back for the rest of the match.

And speaking after the match, the Arsenal manager claimed that Laurent Koscielny might have suffered a broken jaw.

“It was maybe a break,” said Emery.

“I hope not but he’s going to the hospital and we’re going to wait.”

“Sokratis hurt his ankle – I hope not a lot. I hope they are not two big injuries.

“We are taking a lot of big injuries, like Hector Bellerin. Our injuries changed our possibility to do something different.”

And if Laurent Koscielny does indeed have a broken jaw then the defender will likely be out for around six weeks which could be a serious issue for Emery depending now what the status on Sokratis’ injury is.

Personally, this is really bad news for Laurent Koscielny since the player had just recovered from an achilles rupture which forced him to miss around seven months of football – including the World Cup.
