Laurent Koscielny Arsenal news
Laurent Koscielny

Arsenal have had a really problematic last season and it looks like Laurent Koscielny has just added to their troubles.

The Gunners captain was expected to leave the club this summer after failing to make an impact under Unai Emery last season but the club are not too keen to let him leave without receiving a transfer fee.

The defender still has one year left on his current deal with the club and Arsenal want a transfer fee for him so that they can use that money to bring him reinforcements.

A number of French clubs like Lyon, Bordeaux and Rennes have been linked with Laurent Koscielny during the past few weeks and some rumours have also claimed that Bordeaux are willing to offer him a three-year deal.

But still there has been no progress over his transfer and now in desperation to move out, the club captain has refused to travel with the squad to the US.

Arsenal have obviously been left red-faced and furious over the actions of Laurent Koscielny and they immediately chose to release a statement condemning the action.

“Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the US for our pre-season tour,” Arsenal said(as reported by the Guardian).

“We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions.

We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time.”

And now the Guardian are reporting that the Gunners do not intend to take this issue lightly and are in line to punish the centre-back.

They write, “Arsenal have started disciplinary proceedings against their club captain, Laurent Koscielny, after he refused to travel to the United States for a pre-season tour as he attempts to force a move.”

Obviously, everyone has been taken aback with the Koscielny’s actions and now with him refusing to travel to the US, things have only taken a turn for the worse.

Laurent Koscielny is desperate to return back to France this summer but now there is a big chance that the Gunners will refuse to sell him off in order to teach him a lesson.
