Arsenal are planning a major overhaul and it looks like Unai Emery is looking to bring in a couple of new defenders this summer.
This means that the current defenders might be sold off and Laurent Koscielny might be the first one to step out of the door.
Laurent Koscielny has been with the club for nine years now and right now he is the captain of the team.
But during the past couple of years, the defender has been plagued by constant injuries and last season he managed to play only 17 Premier League games due to a serious injury.
Recent reports have suggested that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing the centre-back during the summer with Arsenal putting him up for sale.
Laurent Koscielny has one year left on his current deal at the club and the Gunners are asking for a transfer price of around £11 million for the centre-back.
At first, this might look a very meagre fee for such an experienced defender but if BVB are actually ready to pay the amount then it will surely be a good deal for the Gunners.
The first big reason is that Laurent Koscielny has only a single year left so if the North London outfit cannot offload the defender this summer, then surely they will lose him for free next year.
Also, right now Laurent Koscielny is currently 33 years old and by the time the next season starts, he will be 34.
And to get £11 million for a player who is on the final stages of his professional career would be a great deal for the Premier League outfit.
It is still unclear whether BVB are actually ready to pay the asking price but given that Arsenal are willing to offload Laurent Koscielny, there is a possibility that the Bundesliga club might request for a price reduction.
