Liverpool are currently having their best ever start to the Premier League season and it seems everything that Jurgen Klopp touches is turning into gold.
The Reds have made a number of poor signings during the past couple of seasons but under their German manager, every new signing is turning into a world beater.
And now if reports are to be believed then Klopp has his eyes set on Calgliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
Barella is currently one of the hottest young prospects in the European circuit and apart from Liverpool, a number of other Premier League clubs are interested in signing him up.
But the Merseyside outfit might just have a very unusual advantage over their rivals in the race to sign Nicolo Barella.
If reports are to be believed then Liverpool are planning to use NBA star LeBron James’ influence to sign the midfielder.
What many might now but LeBron James has a 2 per cent stake in Liverpool after he invested $6.5 million in the club back in 2011 and the Reds management want the basketball star to persuade Nicolo Barella to move to Anfield.
According to Goal, “Liverpool could use their links to LeBron James and put themselves in pole position to land Barella”.
But why will a young Italian midfielder listen to LeBron James you might ask.
Well, Nicolo Barella has publicly claimed that LeBron James is one of his idols and he wishes to meet him someday.
And Liverpool are hoping this dream will force Nicolo Barella to move to Anfield.
“Cagliari received offers and turned them down. I am happy to have remained with the club I support,” Barella told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

“If I had to choose between Serie A and the Premier League, I’d go for England, because I like the way they approach the game. Plus everyone there is just as irritable and prone to fouls as me!
“My dream is to get a nice house with a garden and a pool. And to meet LeBron James.”
It is not yet confirmed as to when the Reds will make their move but some reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp is not ready to wait until the end of the season given a number of his rivals are ready to bring Nicolo Barella on board.
