Brendan Rodgers Leicester City vs Man United

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the summer and the player has finally spoken about his future.

Ndidi has been with the Foxes since 2017 and this season, the midfielder has been a key figure for Brendan Rodgers’ side. But there have been constant fears that he could be on his way out.

Now, the 23-year-old has heaped praise on his current boss, Brendan Rodgers while claiming that he remains fully committed to Leicester City – for the time being.

“It’s the Brendan Rodgers effect,” he tells ESPN. “With him, it is not just about the eleven players and subs. Even the players in the under 23, he carries everybody along.

“So there is always space for anybody to fill in and to play. He is that kind of coach that always believes in the squad and not just one player. The main thing is the squad, the squad comes first.

“That is why we are doing very well because we understand that we must always try our best. Where we are is because we work hard and try to improve all.

“There have been ups and downs, and there are still games after the lockdown and there are more points for us to try and get. For now, we are in a good position.

“We are doing well and I am enjoying myself here. I still have a contract with Leicester. I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I am doing okay here so no need to go anywhere.”

The Leicester City man has been a really consistent figure in defensive midfield ever since he joined the Premier League side from Genk but his recent statements will be a real setback to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Gunners are looking to bring in reinforcements during the summer while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can also do with someone like Wilfred Ndidi.

TransferMarkt values the 23-year-old at €36 million but since he still has four years on his current deal, we believe Rodgers will quote an exceptional figure for the midfielder.

But above everything, Leicester City will not be too keen to send the player off especially since they will be needing all the firepower next season as they gear up to return back into the Champions League.
