Victor Lindelof wants ‘this’ player to stay at Man United in order for the Red Devils to succeed: Agree?

Manchester United beat Spurs 1-0 at Wembley on Sunday and with that, the Red Devils are now tied on points with Arsenal who occupy the fifth spot on the Premier League table.

Marcus Rashford put United in the lead right before half-time and from them on it was the David De Gea show.

The Spaniard has had a poor start to the new season – first during the World Cup with Spain and then with his club.

But De Gea was at the top of his game on Sunday, successfully denying the Lilywhites on every occasion.

The United No 1 saved as many as 11 shots on target during the game and all of it came during the second half.

Spurs threw everything at David De Gea but the Spaniard kept everything out – that too with considerable ease.

And now Man United centre-back has claimed that De Gea needs to stay at the club for a long time in order for the Red Devils to succeed at the top level.

“We want him to stay,” Lindelof said(as reported by Goal).

“Having a keeper like that gives you extra confidence. They looked like scoring but he saved us.

“Some of his saves, you’re like: ‘Oh my God.’ He’s one of the best keepers in the world, if not the best.”

De Gea is out of contract at the club during the summer and at the start of the season, fears were that the player could head for greener pastures.

But now with United back to winning ways, the player could very well stay at Old Trafford and some rumours suggest that De Gea has already agreed on terms to a new deal which is why United have kept it rather quiet.
