Lionel Messi has had a tough time at the 2018 World Cup but now that Argentina have secured qualification to the knockout stages, the pressure has just increased multiple folds.
Messi’s started the campaign with a penalty miss against Iceland which immediately made him the talk of the town. And things did not get any smoother after Argentina’s at the hands of Croatia.
But Lionel Messi’s opening goal against Nigeria in their final group game and eventually sealing a 2-1 victory restored a lot of faith on the Barcelona wizard.
Now, his former international teammate Pablo Zabaleta has revealed which team Messi would choose when they used to play FIFA together.
Speaking to the BBC, Zabaleta said: ‘I was better at PlayStation than Messi. He used to play with Chelsea a lot.
‘I used to live in Barcelona city and he was living 30 minutes outside. We were playing on the internet.’
It is quite surprising given the fact that Lionel Messi had such a woeful record against the Blues up until February.
Before February the Argentine had gone 730 minutes without scoring against Chelsea after which he managed to score three goals in two games.
But Zabaleta is talking about days when the West Ham defender used to play for Espanyol(before 2008) during which time Chelsea were dotted with stars like Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack.
