Rangers FC are currently scampering to provide a new deal to their youngster Josh McPake – as per reports.

Josh McPake is a youth product of Rangers and right now the winger is playing his trade for the youth side at Ibrox.

The 17-year-old has had an outstanding season so far and his performance during the Scottish Youth Cup final against Celtic last week has caught the attention of a number of top European clubs.

As per reports, the likes of Liverpool and AS Roma have shown an interest in signing the youngster during the summer transfer window but it looks like the Rangers management are not yet ready to let the youngster leave.

The report claims that the Gers are in the process of offering the youngster a new contract in order to fend off interest from the European giants.

But the big question is, will this new deal do anything to change McPake’s mind.

Right now, Liverpool are said to be the frontrunners in chasing the 17-year-old but rumours in England claim that the Anfield outfit are yet to make a final call.

Josh McPake has impressed everyone with his performances this season so there is every possibility that Liverpool might gamble with a move for the winger – given that he will be available for next to nothing during the summer.

And when one of the top European clubs come calling, it will certainly be hard for the youngster to resist that temptation.

But one thing that Steven Gerrard might do is to use Josh McPake wisely and use the winger to keep Ryan Kent permanently at Ibrox.

Ryan Kent is currently on loan at Rangers from Liverpool and multiple reports have claimed that Gerrard is eager to keep him permanently.

So the Rangers boss can ask to sign Kent permanently from Liverpool in exchange of a Josh McPake plus cash deal.
