Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton in the Merseyside Derby this past weekend which means that Manchester City are now leading the Premier League title race.

With nine games left to play, the Reds should now come from behind meaning the pressure will be on them to pick up maximum points from each and every game.

Everton are the second arch-rivals who have managed to halt Liverpool’s good run – the first being Man United one week ago.

But according to talkSPORT’s Ryan Mason, the draw vs Everton might not be a bad result for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Ryan Mason said on The Final Word: “I actually don’t think today [draw to Everton] is a bad point.

“They’ve dropped points recently which probably makes the result worse than it actually is but to go to Everton and the big derby that it is, I don’t think it’s actually a bad point.

“There are still twists and turns in the Premier League. I don’t believe Manchester City are going to win their final nine games, Liverpool are going to drop points and it’s all to play for.

“I don’t think Liverpool have been that convincing this season.

“If you look at Salah’s performance – last season he would have taken the opportunities.

“There was a real lack of quality in a few instances and it is a bit nervy as they want it so bad but the fact that Manchester City are in front might actually play into Liverpool’s hands because the pressure isn’t on them now.

“They’re the chasers and they don’t have to deal with the pressure. I don’t think they’ve dealt with the pressure very well at all.

“It’s just about who drops the least points now.”
