Football pundit believes ‘this’ could cost Liverpool the Premier League title: Agree or not?

Liverpool have once again climbed back to the top of the Premier League table with a 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

After dropping points during the past couple of games, the Reds finally got their goal-scoring mojo back with Mane, Salah and Wijnaldum putting their names on the scoresheet.

And the pressure is now back on Manchester City who have once again slipped back to the second spot – three points behind leaders Liverpool.

But according to football pundit Paul Merson, the pressure is in fact on Liverpool to deliver and there is one thing that could cost them the Premier League title.

“The pressure is on Liverpool now in the title race but I think it’s their bench that could cost them the title,” he wrote in his Daily Star column.

“Manchester City can rotate as much as they want and their team never gets weakened.

“They have five or six players on the bench who can come on and change a game. Jurgen Klopp’s bench is just not the same.

“They were struggling against West Ham and brought on Divock Origi to try to win them the game.

“No disrespect to him but Origi wouldn’t get in Arsenal’s team and James Milner at right-back seems to be struggling. They must be wondering why they let Nathaniel Clyne go.”

The Reds are already feeling the heat after the injuries to likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool have already confirmed that Joe Gomez will have an operation on his leg and there is a big possibility that the defender could miss the rest of the season.

So if now one other central defender was to get injured then the Liverpool back-line will have a gaping hole.
