Liverpool had yet another disappointing pre-season friendly as Napoli beating them 3-0 at the Murrayfield Stadium in Scotland.
And this loss means the Premier League side has now failed to win their last four pre-season games.
Liverpool won the Champions League last season but they have not made any significant signings this summer which has led many people to believe that the Reds might falter during the upcoming campaign.
While most fans and pundits felt that Liverpool needed to bring in some fresh players in order to upgrade his squad but Jurgen Klopp obviously has shown full faith in his current crop of players.
To be brutally honest that faith has not been repaid during the pre-season tour but Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti believes that the burden of winning the Champions League will not weigh down Liverpool next season.
“To win helps to win,” said the Napoli boss.
“Liverpool won last year, they have the quality to continue to win, to be competitive.
“For sure, Liverpool will be competitive with the squad that they have in Champions League and also in the Premier League. To win? I don’t know.
“You have more difficulty to solve when you lose than when you win. Every season has its own history, I don’t know what will happen this year.
“Liverpool haven’t changed their squad a lot, but they don’t have their three most important players so you can’t judge their team at this moment.
“It was a good game. I’m happy because we are at the end practically of the pre-season and wanted to finish well. It was a good performance.
“It’s important to have this kind of test against a strong team. I’m happy but nothing more. Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful stadium, beautiful pitch, beautiful day.”
Next up, Liverpool will take on Lyon in what will be their final pre-season friendly following which they travel to Wembley for the Community Shield vs Manchester City.
