Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table and next up they take on defending champions Manchester City.

City are currently second on the league table – six points behind leaders Liverpool meaning if Jurgen Klopp’s men can manage to pick up all three points then surely it will be a huge boost towards the Reds winning the title.

Liverpool so far have dropped just a single point in the Premier League and since they will be taking on City at home next weekend, everyone expects them to pick up all three points.

Klopp will be going into this match with more or less a fit squad and apart from a few minor injury concerns, most of his first-team players are ready to take on Man City on Sunday.

Liverpool news vs Man City:

Liverpool played in the Champions League during midweek and during this match the manager chose to rest a few of his key players.

Andrew Robertson was rested vs Genk while James Milner played at left-back but on Sunday vs Man City, the Scotland international should return back to his position.

Joel Matip is out with an injury and it looks like Dejan Lovren will partner Virgil Van Dijk in central defence at Anfield next weekend.

Jordan Henderson missed the midweek clash with an illness and we are still unsure whether the midfielder will be fit in time to play vs City. Some reports claim that Hendo will go through a late fitness test in order to determine his availability but in case he is absent then Naby Keita could get a rare start.

Wijnaldum and Fabinho started in central midfield vs Genk and the pair are expected to keep their place vs the Citizens on Sunday.

Sadio Mane was rested in midweek as Divock Origi played down the left flank but Belgium international should make way for Mane during the weekend.

Roberto Firmino was also rested for the Champions League clash as Alex Oxlade Chamberlain played as the striker but vs City, the Brazilian will return to the first XI.

Apart from the illness to Henderson and the injury to Joel Matip, Xherdan Shaqiri is also out an injury and the Liverpool medical staff have claimed that the Swiss international will only return after the international break.
