Liverpool have failed to pick up a win in their past two games and the Liverpool team news for their next game against Napoli looks at how Jurgen Klopp might line up his men.

The Reds drew their last Premier League game vs Chelsea as a number of their top performers failed to come up with the goods so this game with Napoli will be very crucial in order to keep the momentum that Jurgen Klopp’s men have built from the start of the season.

Napoli are currently second on the Serie A table with 15 points and they go into this game at the back of a 3-0 defeat to Sampdoria.

Liverpool team news vs Napoli:

The biggest Liverpool team news is the fact that Wijanldum might not make the trip to Italy after picking up a knock. While the extent of his injury is not yet known but the fact that Liverpool take on Manchester City next weekend, Jurgen Klopp will not try and risk him on Wednesday.

The other big Liverpool team news is the fact that Adam Lallana has been recovering well from his groin injury and has started training with the team. But he will also not feature against Napoli as the player is yet to take part in a full training session.

Jordan Henderson was especially poor against Chelsea during the weekend and the fans have been urging the manager to drop him to the bench. But if Wijnaldum does not make it to the first XI then the manager will not have any other option but to start his captain in midfield.

In the attacking department of the Liverpool team news, Sadio Mane should retain his position while Roberto Firmino might be replaced by Daniel Sturridge.

Mo Salah has also been performing poorly since the start of the season and there is a very good chance that Jurgen Klopp might decide to bench him and play Xherdan Sahqiri in his place.

There are no major injury concerns in the Liverpool team news – except for the one of Wijnaldum and perhaps the biggest dilemma for the manager will be to choose the players he wants to rest before the Man City clash.
