Liverpool have dropped points in two successive Premier League games meaning their lead at the top of the table has now been cut to just three points.

And the situation could get even worse by the end of this month.

Liverpool will take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 this month and the Reds have a number of injury concerns to deal with.

Joe Gomez is out with a fractured leg and is sure to miss both the legs against Bayern and now Dejan Lovren has also injured his hamstring.

Virgil Van Dijk is ruled out with a suspension meaning Klopp only have Joel Matip has his available central defender.

But amongst all this gloom, Liverpool have finally received some good news.

According to reports, Bayern Munich will miss out on Thomas Muller during both the legs of the Round of 16.

Thomas Muller received a two-game ban for his after kung-fu kick on Ajax’s Nicolás Tagliafico.

Bayern Munich initially wanted to make an appeal to the UEFA regarding the suspension but now reports have it that the appeals have been rejected meaning Thomas Muller will have no other option but to serve those two game bans.

The absence of Thomas Muller will surely be a problem for Niko Kovac since the German international has been one of the best playmakers for Bayern this season.

Muller has so far played in 19 Bundesliga games and has managed to rack up four goals and six assists.

And his absence during the Champions League clash could mean that Kovac could make a few shuffles to his forward line
