Manchester United lost their final group game in the Champions League to Valencia this midweek meaning they have finished second in Group H behind Juventus.

And right after this defeat, Jose Mourinho will have to take him men to Anfield and face an inform Liverpool.

Liverpool secured qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League beating Napoli 1-0 and now Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to keep his unbeaten run in the league intact vs United.

United have a number of players who could miss this high-profile game with various injuries but football pundit Gary Neville has urged Mourinho to drop one of his key players for this game.

Neville is obviously talking about Romelu Lukaku who has been turning a liability with each passing week.

Romelu Lukaku was brought in to score goals for the club but most often than not he is the player who ends up ruining an attacking move.

And Gary Neville wants Jose Mourinho to drop the Belgium international back to the bench.

“No. No, I’d go with the mobility,” he said.

“I’d go with the ones that have been playing.”

“I think the Lukaku who played at the World Cup for Belgium could make this team easily, but the Lukaku who has played for Manchester United this season is lacking confidence.”

But can Mourinho afford to drop Romelu Lukaku?

If the manager had all of his first-team players fit then we could have said with confidence that Romelu Lukaku wouldn’t have started this match.

But as things stand, Anthony Martial is set to miss this game.

Anthony Martial is yet to return back to full training after having injured his hamstring in which scenario Marcus Rashford will take up his place and Jesse Lingard should come into the side.

This only means that Jose Mourinho will have to start with Romelu Lukaku as his frontman – whether he likes it or not.
