Liverpool looked a bit nervy vs Southampton last Friday but eventually, Klopp’s men were able to pick up all three points.

And most fans are hoping that this small stutter will not affect their Champions League game vs Porto on Tuesday.

But according to talkSPORT pundit Micky Gray, Joel Matip looked really shaky in defence and it might be a bit of a concern for Jurgen Klopp going into such a big European game.

talkSPORT pundit Micky Gray said: “They looked nervous [first 20 minutes],

“The one that stood out, who looked a little bit panicky, was Matip for me, who was playing centre-half alongside Van Dijk.

“You only have to look at the first goal.

“The gap between the two centre-halves and there was no communication between them. It’s something Van Dijk has pretty much had throughout the whole of the season.

“But when the ball was falling to his [Matip’s] feet he looked nervy and he was trying to get rid of the ball as much as he possibly could.”

Joel Matip has been the preferred partner for Virgil Van Dijk during the past couple of months but the Liverpool boss also has the option of using Dejan Lovren in central defence.

But given Porto are really not that big a threat going forward we do not see Klopp replacing Joel Matip with Lovren on Tuesday.

The only change in defence will be that of James Milner with Robertson after the Scotland international picked up a suspension.
