Rangers and Celtic have been dealt with a huge transfer blow as Liverpool winger Harry Wilson will not be moving out of England during the summer transfer window.

Wilson has been tipped to move out of Anfield on a season-long loan deal and for the longest time, it was being assumed that the Welsh International will be moving to Scotland.

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wanted to bring Wilson to Celtic but it was Rangers who were said to be leading the race.

And the 21-year-old’s move out of Liverpool was confirmed by manager Jurgen Klopp who had claimed that a lot of clubs had shown interest in signing the player.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “Harry has a lot of interest in him from different clubs, so no risk now,”

And immediately after this Harry Wilson was omitted from the Liverpool squad that was scheduled to face Bury during their preseason training.

Reports claim that the Premier League outfit is making the final preparation for sending Harry Wilson out on loan and hence do not want to risk the player getting injured ahead of the move.

But it seems that the winger will be staying in England itself as Championship side Derby Country are now the favourites to land the youngster.

As per the reports, Derby boss Frank Lampard has made the best offer for Harry Wilson and Liverpool feel that it will be more beneficial for the player if he stays within the country.

This is a huge setback for Rangers who were supposed to be the closest to signing the Welsh International.

The Gers had successfully seen off interest from their Old Firm rivals but now it seems they have lost out to Derby.
