Liverpool visit Stamford Bridge this weekend to take on Chelsea – the same team which inflicted Jurgen Klopp’s first defeat of the new season in midweek during the Carabao Cup.

Klopp rested a number of his first-team regulars during the midweek encounter but most of them are expected to return to Liverpool’s line-up vs Chelsea on Saturday.

Though the Anfield outfit have suffered their first defeat of the season they are very much undefeated in the Premier League and Klopp will be hoping that his boys can keep it that way.

Liverpool news: Liverpool’s line-up vs Chelsea

Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to make an array of changes to Liverpool’s line-up vs Chelsea on Saturday with the biggest ones coming in the form of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.

The duo started the midweek game vs Chelsea on the bench but will feature in Liverpool’s line-up vs Chelsea during the weekend – replacing Xherdan Shaqiri and Daniel Sturridge.

Fabinho made his full debut for Liverpool during the Carabao Cup game but that turned out to be quite a disaster so there are absolutely no prizes for guessing that Wijnaldum will return back to his familiar position in central midfield.

Full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson both were rested in midweek but will return to Liverpool’s line-up vs Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

But the major concern for Jurgen Klopp will be with the fitness of Virgil Van Dijk who suffered a bruised rib and will have to go through a late fitness test before the Chelsea game.

If Van Dijk becomes unavailable for the weekend’s clash then Dejan Lovren will hopefully take his place in central defence.

Liverpool’s line-up vs Chelsea:

Goalkeeper:  Becker.

Defence: Robertson, Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Alexander-Arnold.

Midfield: Milner, Naby Keita, Wijnaldum.

Attack: Salah, Firmino, Mane.
