Chelsea take on Liverpool in the Premier League and the Blues will be hoping to inflict Jurgen Klopp’s first defeat of the new league season.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are currently third on the league table with 16 points and if they manage to beat the Anfield outfit then they might regain the first spot – depending on how Manchester City perform in their game as well.

Chelsea have already defeated Liverpool in midweek during the Carabao Cup but a number of the Liverpool first-team regulars were not playing in the match so the Chelsea vs Liverpool match on Saturday will be a totally different affair.

Chelsea vs Liverpool: Chelsea team news

While Sarri knows that his team will have the upper hand during the Chelsea vs Liverpool encounter but the Italian does have a few injury concerns going into the match which can turn the tide in the favour of Jurgen Klopp.

Antonio Rudiger remains a major doubt for the game with the defender suffering from a groin injury and with Christensen out of the picture too, it could be up to Gary Cahill to partner David Luiz at centre-back during the Chelsea vs Liverpool encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho was rested for the midweek clash vs the Reds but he will regain his spot on the first XI as will N’Golo Kante. This means that both Kovacic and Ross Barkley will drop down to the bench.

Another major worry for Maurizio Sarri before the Chelsea vs Liverpool game is the fitness of Pedro who the manager has claimed is the best player right now for the Blues. The Spaniard has been fighting to get a 100 per cent but and if recent reports are to be believed then he will make it back in time for Saturday’s encounter.

If Pedro does not make it back in time then Willian will take his place on the right-hand side of the pitch in a straight swap.

Alvaro Morata started the midweek game against Jurgen Klopp’s men but the former Real Madrid man is disastrously out of form meaning the manager will have to lay his hopes on Olivier Giroud once again.
