Manchester United are in search of a new central defender and many believe that West Ham’s Issa Diop could be the one who ends up at Old Trafford this summer.

Issa Diop had a fine season with the Hammers playing in 33 Premier League games and it is being claimed that Solskjaer might be keen to sign him in order to fix his long-standing defensive problems.

And if that happens then Manuel Pellegrini will make a move for OGC Nice centre-back Malang Sarr.

Malang Sarr might just be 20 years of age but last season he was one of the most talked about defenders in the French League and as per reports, West Ham are planning to make a move for him if Issa Diop leaves.

According to French Football News, “Nice-Matin report that Premier League side West Ham United have placed OGC Nice central defender Malang Sarr on their shortlist in the event of the summer departure of Issa Diop to Manchester United.

“The 20-year-old is under contract with Les Aiglons until 2020 and has widely been expected to sign a new deal with the club.

“Gladbach are also intensely interested in the French youth international prospect, whilst RB Leipzig are also understood to have made discreet enquiries for the player.”

West Ham United reportedly want around £75 million for Issa Diop and if Man United agree to pay that amount then the London side could make a huge profit out of this transaction.

As per TransferMarkt, Malang Sarr is valued at only €18 million and some rumours claim that €25 million should be more than enough for the Hammers to sign him.

And in that case, they can use the excess money from Diop’s sale to bring in other reinforcements.

But having said this, all of it depends on whether Manchester United are willing to pay such a steep price for Issa Diop who has so far played only one full season in the Premier League.
